John J. Kenny - Poet.

John J. Kenny was born on 25th. February 1898 in Glasgow, Scotland son of Michael Kenny, a native of Kiltoom in South Roscommon. His mother died when he was nine days old and he was brought to Ireland by his grandparents. He married in 1919. He wrote his first two poems at the age of 20. His poems were published in "The Roscommon Champion" and 250 poems are recorded to him*. In 1975 he wrote this book of verse.
