John Hester died on 15th May 2008 at the grand old age of 99 years. A former Roscommon Town footballer (County Senior Champion 1938) and well known boxing enthusiast, John wrote his autobiography when he was 90. He was also interviewed by Paul Healy for the book "God Save All Here".
