The Flute Players of Roscommon.

The Flute Players Society was formed in 2004 to celebrate the role of the flute in Co. Roscommon musical history, to encourage the future development of flute playing within the county and to promote the uniqueness of the genre worldwide. Their first CD of music was produced the same year and their second was launched at the O'Carolan Harp Festival & Summer School in Keadue, Co. Roscommon, on 1st. August 2008. Proceeds from the sale of the CD's goes towards purchasing flutes for young musicians, financing young musicians participation in summer schools throughout the country and setting up an online flute music archive.
