O'Meara Tournament. Won by Knockcroghery 1933.

The O'Meara Cup was played for by teams in the south of the county. Eventually, it is believed, the O'Meara's became associated with sponsorship of soccer in Athlone and this tournament was discontinued?

According to the Knockcroghery Club history the 1933 team was: Patrick Garrick, Patrick Fallon, Peter Fallon, William Hanlon, James Connaughton, George Coyle, George Murphy, Edward Fitzgerald, James Fitzgerald, William Tulley, William Donnelly, James Finneran, James Murray, Bernard Hoare and Thomas Malinn.

The Marathon Final: Roscommon Senior Football Championship 1944. Tarmon.

This was one of the great teams of the decade. Between themselves and St. Patricks they won every Senior Championship from 1939 to 1949. In this year Tarmons opponents were St. Coman's and the match went to two replays - it became known as the "Marathon Final".

According to Colm Hannelly the team was as follows: Frank Glynn, Paddy Forde, J. P. O'Callaghan, Pearse Rowntree, Paddy Concannon, Bill Jackson, Watt Keane, Bill Carlos (Captain), Tom Callaghan, Bill Keegan, Paddy Duignan, Brian O'Rourke, Tom Hannelly, Bill Connor and Paddy 'Dickie' Hanley. The subs were: Jim Carlos, Paddy Sweeney, Paddy Donnelly, Tom Kennedy, Paddy Egan, Jow Rowntree, John Duignan, Dick Gannon, Danny Carroll, Gerry Higgins and Tim Lynch.

Roscommon Inter-Division League 1944. Western Division. (The Conlon Cup?).

This medal is associated with the one above and is believed also to be a Tarmon medal. Colm Ó hAinlighe says that Tarmon won this tournament in 1945 (but the game for 1944 might have been played that year?). The team is likely to have been the same as that listed above.

Clann na nGael was formed in 1936 and won the cup for the first time in the 1936/37 season. For the full report of the match follow this link: McCrann Cup Report.

Handball. Minor Doubles 1952. Roscommon.

According to Colm Hannelly's book "Roscommon Sporting Records 1871 - 1982" Roscommon won the 1952 Connacht Minor Softball Doubles Championship. The two handballers involved were W. Healy and R. Doherty. This medal could be the County Medal or the Connacht Medal for that year?
