Catalogue of GAA Match Programmes

Often a work of art!

The earliest programme for a GAA match dates back to about 1913 for the all Ireland final between Kerry and Wexford. It was not until later, perhaps the 1930’s, that programmes were produced for semi-finals. The earliest programme of Roscommon interest dates from the early 1940’s. Early provincial final programmes date from the 1930’s (a Munster final programme exists - Limerick v. Waterford for 1934). County Final programmes date from the 1940’s (Tipperary - Thurles v Carrick-on-Suir, 1946) and today programmes are produced for almost every match. Programmes are collectible in themselves, some are almost miniature works of art, but they also contain much of historical interest. They list players, the referee, the team colours, and often a snippet of information on the team, the players themselves and the mentors. Collecting programmes can be a satisfying pastime and we hope that this small collection is of interest. Programmes are not entered in any particular order & we don’t have all of the programmes shown here. We would be delighted to hear from anyone with programmes that they no longer require. Please contact us.
