Brief description of Categories.

 

Badge

Cloth, metal or paper badge used to describe an individual (Party badges NOT included)

Campaign Card

Card, printed on one or both sides, describing the candidate etc. Similar to polling cards but usually smaller size. Similar function to election leaflets.

Car Sticker

Paper or plastic sticker used on outside body or inside the windows of a vehicle.

Compliment Slip

Printed paper slip used for acknowledgement etc.

Counter-propaganda leaflet

Document used against a candidate, often scurrilous or vindictive, usually produced by someone not themselves seeking election.

Election Leaflet

Single page (A4 or A5 usually) or folded (usually tri-fold A4) leaflet, laying out individual candidates policy, history  etc. Usually issued at election time.

Election Letter

Plea to voter in form of a (usually) typed letter.

Petition

Plea for written support (signatures) for some campaign.

Political Cloth

Cloth flags, caps or other material designed for individual (NOT party).

Political Leaflet

Similar to election leaflet but with general party policy, rather than the individual candidates issues, highlighted. May be issued before or between campaigns.

Political Newsletter

Party or individuals newsletter, larger than political leaflet (often A3 or multi-page) and usually issued before or between campaigns.

Political Postcard

Similar to political leaflet but smaller. Card with print on one or both sides.

Polling Card

Similar to election leaflet but generally a single narrow sheet, printed on one or both sides. Usually asking for No. 1 vote.

Poster

Paper, card and (recently) corrugated plastic poster for placing on poles, walls or hoarding. Small in the past but recently rather large size.

Ticket

Invitation or ticket to celebration, usually after successful campaign.
