Roscommon Candidates in National Elections 1918 - 2007 The first election of the modern era was held in 1918 and the majority of seats in that election went to Sinn Féin. Elections were also held during the period of the Irish Civil War 1922 - 24. Following the war elections were held on a regular basis and on two occasions two elections were held the same year.
This list of Roscommon candidates for each election since 1918 is extracted from "The Longman Handbook of Modern Irish History Since 1800" by N. C. Fleming & Alan O'Day (Pearson Education Ltd. 2005), from the internet website of the Oireachtas in Ireland and from various other sources.
We hope you find this table useful. It is still a work in progress. Some lists may be incomplete. Errors and omissions are possible, if you find any please contact us. |
