If you would like to sponsor this page please contact us. Sean Beirne. Sean Beirne is from Strokestown and holds a B. Agr. Sc. (Hort.) degree from U.C.D. He was first elected to Roscommon County Council in 1985 and has been returned in every election since. He was Chairman of the Council in 1993 - 94 and Mayor in 2004 - 05. He was Chairman of Roscommon VEC in 2000/01 and 2004/05. He was a Fine Gael candidate in the Strokestown Constituency in the 2009 Roscommon County Council Elections.
