The Pioneer Total Abstinence Association (PTAA) has had branches in Co. Roscommon since at least the 1930's. One Centre has celebrated its 75th anniversary (right) and one its 50th. (left), both with the production of a book. The PTAA holds annual functions and has been involved in local community activities for all of those years.

Our collection of PTAA ephemera consists mainly of Réadoírí competition material. The Réadoírí competition is held annually and comprises events in singing, dancing, acting and recitation for all ages.

We would welcome any additional information on the PTAA in Roscommon and additional examples of documents and ephemera. If you have same please contact us.
