The National University of Ireland (NUI) Galway, Diploma in Archaeology is a two year part-time programme intended for first & second year teachers and anyone interested in the contribution of archaeology to education, local studies, heritage studies and tourism. No previous knowledge of archaeology is required.
The first outreach programme was run in Roscommon from 2007 to 2009. About 25 participants completed the course. A new course for the area is now planned.
