Lecarrow is the village situated in St. John's parish. Lecarrow is not a townland. There are many places called Lecarrow in Co. Roscommon, but we believe that this is the only village amongst them. Lecarrow A Romance by Rev. Michael O'Beirne CC. No publisher. Lisacul 28th. Aug. 1912. 52 page (card covered) story, by one of the participants, of the events surrounding a well publicised legal case over inter. alia. alleged slander in the local newspapers. "Price to Newspaper Editors £100 - Price to ordinary mortals 2/6 net".

Fr. Michael Beirne, in later life, when he was PP of Kilbride and the French clock given to him by his grateful parishioners from Lecarrow, (mentioned in the book on page 44). Inscription: "LECARROW. A Souvenir. St. John's, 1909".

Black & white illustrations. The story of the emigration & return of Margaret Brennan, a native of the area, in the early 20th. century.
