Echoes of Ballaghaderreen.

Echoes of Ballaghaderreen first appeared in 1986. Fr. John Doherty organised a meeting in May of that year with a view to publishing a local paper. Twelve people attended the meeting and this committee produced the first edition for Christmas that year. The paper went on sale on Sunday 7th. December 1986. It hasn't missed a festive season since. The paper has always been printed in A3 or "Tabloid" format, originally on standard newsprint and, in the past few years, on high quality "glossy" paper. It contains all the news from the previous year, with copious illustrations. Colour was added in 2002 and today the publication is of a very high standard. No publisher is given.

Our collection contains the following issues of the paper, (thanks to the three Marys - Mary P. Carty, Mary Gallagher and Mary Dwyer, to whom we express a sincere thanks). We are missing 6 issues and would welcome the missing editions. If you have them please contact us.
