Co. Roscommon Historical & Archaeological Society. |

In the 1960's the society enjoyed a revival, but there is no evidence of any publications or other material surviving from this time. In 1982 the current society was formed in Strokestown and it has enjoyed success since then. The group organises lectures (held mainly in Strokestown) during the winter and spring, outings and tours during the summer, and has published a Journal since 1986. (Illustrations below is the full set). The Society also produced a booklet for Percy French in 1984. The front cover on all issues is illustrated with artwork by Albert Siggins. (The Society Lecture Programme (right) for 2006 / 2007 was also designed and illustrated by him). We would welcome additional material relating to Co. Roscommon Historical & Archaeological Society. If you have some please contact us. |
